Anyone still trapping?

Waste chocolate from the M&M plant worked really well for skunks in dp's(for me). I'm not sure where to get any of the waste these days. I guess you could try crushed Hershey bars or Hershey's kisses.
I have 3 dp's and 2 live traps out for almost two weeks and caught 2 groundhogs, 2 coons, 3 possums and two cats that i think a low life dumped out on us. Pretty slow here, very little on cell cams. The only big predator i have around right now are bobcats. Live traps are producing better than the dp's for me. I've been trying freeze dried meal worms and using some fruit mixed in with the other baits. Trying to catch this skunk but catching everything else instead.

Year around trapping was a great move for sure by the agency. It is really helpful to deal with the unwanted varmints around the house in summer.

I was trapping late season usually an by then the insects were not an issue. I can see where they might be a problem in warm weather.

Still haven't trapped many - may need to move them around some. But have been seeing and shooting them in the evenings. Here's our kill count for 2024 thus far. These numbers are far below the last 2 years. Hopefully a good sign.

Skunks: 4
Grinners: 9
Coons: 21
Total: 34
Armadillos: 15

Not gonna lie I had to google what a grinner was lol.

Are you purposely trapping armadillos or they just getting in the traps?

All the armadillos have been shot. We didn't see many the last year or so, but they've exploded over the summer and back like they were before

Kill em all no matter how it's done. They are bad around here too. I have never caught one in a trap is why I was asking.
Yep - kill them all! They devastate fields. Screw em. We kill every one we see. We've killed hundreds several years in a row. They went away and then now came back with a vengeance?? BOOM is what our neighbors hear constantly šŸ¤£

Now's the time to get the traps out here before Turkey season. They are really hungry right now. Caught 3 grinners Saturday night
