It seems most turkey hunters are obsessed with fields anymore. I do not remember ever seeing so many folks willing to sit in a blind and stare at a decoy spread in hopes a turkey blunders by.
I agree, fields are way overrated in turkey hunting, the only time I ever consider hunting a field is right after a rain or during a good rain, the birds in my area seem to use our field quite often during those times, but other than that I'm deep in the woods 99% of the time
