Armadillos…

I don't even remember seeing them in Tennessee until about 10 years ago so the first time I saw one I thought what the hell is that an armadillo lol I thought that was like a Texas thing
Anyway I have been told they are extremely destructive if you get one under your house or any place you don't want them

Thought I heard gunshots last night after dark but didn't think anything of it. Was talking with neighbor today and he asked if I heard him shooting last night so I asked at what and he said an armadillo. Somehow missed him with a shotgun but we kill everyone we see. A 17hmr will hurt their feelings and I've got another one hanging around. Went through my dog gate yesterday and just the other side there were probably 10 freshly dug holes about the size of a golf ball. His time is limited if I see him.

Saw the first one around here that I've seen in 5 years. Walking the dog at 4am and he was up in the corner of my yard. The dog ran him off so no chance to go back and get my pistol.

I'm carrying it with me from now on.

I finally got them run out of my yard. They were trying to dig under my house. I have never seen the holes they dig, but did see this at the farm the other day. It's about 50% larger than a softball in size and goes about two feet down. Is it from an armadillo?

Looks exactly like the holes in my field. That hole is definitely from an armadillo. This is why I shoot every one I see. Easy for a cow or horse to break a leg in holes like this.

I'll add them to the list then. I'm in the stand with my son right now and I brought a suppressed AR with me for critter control.
