I asked a question about this not too long ago but would like some more thoughts.
I have some old beaman ICS hunter 400s, 9.1 gpi, 29 inches, and I shoot 125 grain broad heads. It shot pretty good over the weekend, but all of the charts say I need to shoot 340 spines.
I have a Mathews Drenaline shooting 70#s.
If I went to a 340 spine at 29" with about a 9.4 gpi, would I need 100 grain heads or 125 grain heads? Sorry if the information isn't enough to give thoughts.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I guess my question is, would it still be better to go to 340 spines? and If I did would I need 100 grain tips or 125, or does that matter?
Thanks.

100gr on the frontweight on the front decreases spine, weight on the back increases spine. By going with a 100gr on the front and bumping up to .340 shaft you will be closer to a good spine match. If you use the 125gr head, you decrease the spine and cancel out what you are trying to do.

Thanks TNDeerGuy. Your advice to me on these post has been quite a help.

woodsman, we are 2 peas in a pod...Im shooting a drenalin at 70#s with a beaman ics hunter. 28" carbon to carbon. I asked the same spine question a week or so ago and TNdeerguy helped me out as well. I'd like to go to a stiffer spine, but i don't want to pay for another dozen arrows. I kinda just deal with it. I've only been shooting 2 weeks now, and here's my group at 30 yards. I have a problem gripping the bow and tend to pull an arrow every now and then, and i knew i pulled that arrow that hit right. It's not like these seasoned vets shoot, but Im ok with it

If you can, get a stiffer spine. If not, just practice with what you got and make it happ'n cap'n! Hope it all works out

If you ask me I think its a pretty good group fopr 30 yards, better than I can do anyway.

I just bought a half doz of the bemans ICS hunters 400 (27 &half length nock the carb) over the weekend, only shooting a 65lb DW so I think they'll be ok but havent tried them yetnow I'm on the hunt for some broadheads, think'n 100gr would be ok, mite try a 125gr.

Lte me know what broadheads ya'll get & hpw they do.
