I bought a new Mathews ZXT this year to get back into bow hunting after a couple year break bow is set to 28"&70lbs. I had a dozen Carbon Express Piledriver's cut to 27.25" they weigh in a 11.3 gpi total weight with nocturnal nock & 100gr head is about 470gr. What I'm getting to is I still have a couple packs of 2 blade rage that I've never shot from a couple years ago is this combo going to deliver enough energy and penetration to use such a large cut broadhead or would I be better with a fixed blade? I don't know the speed with this set up but IBO is 325 so I'm thinking with the heavy set up I maybe in the 260's

I agree, with that much weight behind a mechanical you should not have a problem. If you decide to go with a good fixed blade you would be able to drop arrow weight and gain some speed and get good penetration/pass thru.

Kinetic energy is just one part of the equation.

Momentum is what makes a heavier arrow penetrate deeper.

I can take a lighter, faster arrow and heavier, slower arrow and have very similar KE numbers but the heavier arrow will carry more momentum.
