I wonder who will replace him? Is Bobby Petrino in line to make an SEC head coaching return? Will Kiffin be hired away from Ole Miss? Maybe another big name such as the Jimbo Fisher hire that got them to this place?

What will they have to spend to get a big name to come, or will they have to settle for a young hotshot gamble and hope that he develops?

Or… will they hire Rapinoe since she has now retired and is out of the spotlight?

So many questions

I'm sure he's laughing all the way to the bank with his $75 million and not a care in the world. He and Orgeron got it right. Still never understood buyouts in coaching and corporate America. You don't get enough W's or run a company in the ground and walk away with these huge parachute clauses. It's insane and seems to have no ceiling on how much the buyout is. Sign me up!

What a glorious day to wake up.
ALABAMA wins the West and is headed to Atlanta.
vols lose about aas badly as they could have lost .

And now this little gem.

And people were ready to crown him the king of the west after beating ALABAMA LOL

There really should be no reason for A@M to NOT be a top 10 program .

While other programs run off at tge suck about having tge best facilities, tge best programs, tge greatest history blah blah blah they truly do have all that going for them and have the money and ability to recruit at the highest levels .

They seem to keep shooting themselves short in these goofy coaching hires that come back to bite them.

Tell us how bad the new a&m hire sucks just to make you feel better. Now they haven't hired anyone yet but your story is easy to predict. Tell us just how bad the new guy is and get it out of the way

A&M could have a really good team with the right coach.
Fisher always felt slimey to me. His recruiting felt like it was only about the money and not about any program substance, and I think that has proven itself. If someone who can recruit AND develop comes in to build that program it could be dynamite. Just seems like a lot of Texas arrogance between them and UTw that may make that difficult, though

The other UT has gone through the same abyss that the real UT has, but they really have no excuse. I know part of TN's problem was power-hungry boosters, and I suspect thatbwas the same at bot both TX schools. Auburn had the same issues.

That's one thing that you have to give credit to Saban. He has made it clear that it's his show and he'll run it with a tight fist. Even the local media, police, and SEC bow down to him.

No other coach has that authority, although Kirby may get there.

ESPN had some Aggie stats under Jumbo up on the screen last night. It was more of what he failed to do under his tenure as head coach than it was his accomplishments. Guess Beating ALABAMA is NOT the same as winning a National Championship After all :)

This is why the firing of Jumbo ahead of the end of the season really makes sense for A&M. They need to get a coach in there and a good one but one that can reach out and grab Zach Arnett as a Defensive Co-coordinator before someone else does.

Among the reasons Texas A&M has been so hesitant to fire Fisher is that buyout, which is expected to exceed $75 million for the coach alone. But that's just the start of the Aggies needing to open their pockets. Members of Fisher's staff have their own buyouts. Entrenched coaches at top programs who Texas A&M will likely pursue may have their own buyouts that will need to be financed. There's also the potential for significant changes up and down the support staff. And then there's the entire set of new contracts that must be signed for the new coach and their staff.
In the end, the $75 million is just the starting point for Texas A&M as it seeks to untangle itself from Fisher's leadership.

Anyone involved in that contract should be fired. That's ridiculous.
There are kids that can't afford college and these clowns throw away more than $75 million.

Ross Bjork seems to be ready to fall on his sword for the Aggies if you are reading between the lines in his presser.

He alone said he made the recommendation to fire him and that while there was some discussion it was his recommendation and decision to fire him. So it sounds like the 12th Man foundation and the Aggies Football Administration are looking for a fall guy and someone to blame in all of this when the dust settles and I will not be surprised when the dust does settles if it will not be Ross Bjork. After all there always has to be SOMEONE to blame.

auburn threw away 21 Million on that clown gus and then turned around and fired Bryan Harsin with a 15.5 Million dollar buy out. Talk about money to burn in less than 3 seasons. Sorta makes the vols look like geniuses firing Butch Jones with just a 8.2 Million Buy huh???

Don't look now but NIL has brought to the table more money not only more money for players but more money for college football in general. Now coaches are wanting a bigger piece of the pie too. Buy outs are bigger than ever. If you want a Elite coach its gonna cost you.

  • Kirby Smart, Georgia - $92,625,000 million.
  • Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M - $77,562,500 million.
  • Brian Kelly, LSU - $70,018,333 million.
  • James Franklin, Penn State - $64,666,667 million.
  • Dabo Swinney, Clemson - $64,000,000.
  • Matt Rhule, Nebraska - $62,062,500.

Looks like Scott Woodward Former athletic director at Texas A&M was the one that Hired on Jumbo. He left Texas A&M and is now at LSU. Texas A&M was worried that Woodward would try and Steal Jumbo away so they offered Jumbo the Contract Extension and the 77 Million Dollar buy out so Woodward could not pull it off. You can also see a pattern with Scott Woodward where Brian Kelly is getting a 70 Million Dollar Buy out.

Bottom line is wanna be the 70 Million Dollar Man.??? Follow Scott Woodward.

I just wonder how much Longer Clemson is going to put up with Dabo or do with him like Texas A&M did this year with Jumbo and take away his play calling and put him on a short leash before showing him the door.???? I would think his door is closing soon.
