I wish I had either one of y'all's scopes.....

It may be the same scope in both pics. I bought an 870 from Grizzly a couple years ago and the scope was part of the package deal. It is a nice one. Unfortunately I don't think Leupold makes it anymore.

Be cautious if you go this route. I put one on my 870 a few years ago and I assume I over tightened the bolts and the gun slam fired when cycling a shell in the chamber.I don't know if there is a torque spec on installation,but none came with the mount.Drill and tap would be better or new barrel with cantilever rail is another option depending on drill and tap cost.

Even if he removed the trigger assembly and did something to it I don't see how it would happen. Somehow the firing pin would've had to be stuck out.

Over-tightening would create drag on the slide.... should not cause a slam-fire issue.... There are sleeves that the pins run through, you can only tighten down against them so far.

Maybe you had some type of trash in the action stopping the hammer from staying in the locked position when you racked the action back....?
