Do you all have one? Sitting here thinking, about all the what if scenario's that could happen to my bow during the season, got me thinking what if my Bow did mess up during the season and it takes a few weeks to get it fixed or something, then im out of hunting.I hunt alot,I hunt at least 3 or 4 days a week, sometimes more. How important do you think it is to have a back up.Im thinking of picking up a used bow to have as a back up.

If you hunt that many days a week it wouldn't hurt to have some kind of backup. I kept my old bow when I bought my new one just in case.

I have one if I HAVE to use it. I would have to shoot it a couple of times first and get used to aiming a foot over its back at 30 yards, and watch it go up and come back down :D

Good question though! I would be depressed if I was out of hunting for a week or longer

Buy a good bow and accessories and be careful and there is no need for a back up bow or atleast I have never needed one.

The things that are not thought of are: dropping it out of your stand, someone not knowing what they are doing and dry-firing it, etc...Those are my concers at least

I have an extra rest and sight marked and ready to go. In about an hour I can convert my 3D bow to a hunting bow so it's my backup. If I go out of state I take two bows with me that are both ready to hunt with.

If I only had one bow I wouldn't go buy another just to have a backup though.

Yup, I guess that's what you call it...I have my two previous bows and they both shoot great...I hunt with a Mathews DXT, my backup is the Mathews Featherlight and backing that up is my ProLine Mountain Bow...heck maybe I should sell a few!

Well Since I have 14 bows in my basement----- if push comes to shove I could find something. The newest bow I own is 13 years old and all the other bows are older than that. But, I bet the deer wouldn't care how old the bow I shot it with was. ;)

Last year I discovered cracks in the limbs of my 2001 bow, so I bought a new bow at the same time I dropped the old one off for warranty repair. If it had been in season, I'd have needed a little practice and tuning/sightng in time with the new bow.

My old bow came back just before season, so now I have it as a backup. Both bows are set at the same poundage, shoot the same arrows, etc, but the new bow is a bit faster. I shoot both during practice sessions.

The one time I would have needed a backup bow was when my peep sight got caught in some brush and popped out. If I had a backup bow in the truck, I could have been back in business in the time it took to walk back and get it.

I have a few back up bows . I like to keep a few bows around to use as a backup or serve a different need in my arsenal . :)

I just never get rid of anything, archery. I am a "collector" of old and worn out things. Now that I think about it so is my wife.
