Back up Bows

Yup got two. When you take trips its always good to have a back-up bow.

My buddy learned that about 4 yrs ago. We drove all night to Illinois to hunt. Get there early in the a.m. unload 4 wheelers. He put his bow case on his treestand hanger. The case ended up close to a new muffler he put on his 4 wheeler. Well it burnt a hole thru the case thus breaking the bow string. He couldnt hunt for two days. trying to find a new string.

Buy a good bow and accessories and be careful and there is no need for a back up bow or atleast I have never needed one.

sh--...uh... stuff happens

I agree , Stik . Been there , done that . As for back up bows , I keep a few bows around instead of selling them . I have been practicing with one of my backup bows and have found that I'm shooting better with it than my primary speed bow , so it will become my primary hunting bow this year for that reason .

So you,ve waited for your WMA drawn hunt since last year. You have prepped for MONTHS. You are shooting 2 inch groups at 35 yards, and unknown distances. You've worked HARD to prep for this up coming season.

You pack the day before. You scouted a week ago and prepped your stand site back in January confident you'd be drawn.

The wind should be PERFECT.

You've driven to the WMA...a few hours from home. Set up camp, and invested MUCH time, money, and energy in this trip.

The night before the hunt, in bed, you can barely keep your eyes closed in anticipation of what the morning hunt may bring. You load up in the truck, and head to your GREATLY anticipated spot.

As you get your bow out of the truck, the string brushes against something and breaks.

Yea, get a back up.

I agree 102.

When Rich and I went to Wyoming we each took two bows. My travel case had my primary bow and his backup. His case carried his primary and my backup. We also divided up arrows. I'm not taking chances when I have time or money invested in a hunt.

Exactly !

Or how about this one...Same scenario as b-4 except you make it all the way to your tree, in the dark. Climb up in your climbing stand. Settle in. Haul up your bow. Take an arrow out of the quiver. And BAM!...your bow blows up. As you took the arrow out of the quiver the broadhead just barely touched the string. END OF HUNT...unless you have a back up bow, already well broken in and practiced, in the truck.
