Bammer missing playoffs

Only one ACC team and one Big 12 team get I'd think. Only way ACC gets two is if Miami doesn't play for conference championship and only has one loss still, I think SMU and Clemson have the inside track at conference championship right now.
The truth in the sec this year is out of the top 5-6 teams they are all flawed and there's not a huge difference in any of them. UGA and possibly Texas are slightly ahead but flawed. Next is Tenn,Bama and ole miss followed closely by A&M and sc. Sc may be playing better than anyone other than UGA right now. I don't think we can tell in Texas yet since they have only played one good sec team and they got beat at home by them. UGA or Texas seem to be the only ones playing possible championship level ball. Any of the others could heat up at any time. I think bama is too flawed with no ability to be accurate passing the ball. Tenn has the pieces but is way too inconsistent on throwing the ball and getting dumb penalties. Ole Miss at times can't protect their qb and don't have a really good rb and only one really good wr. Sc is just young and now gelling. A&M have a very young qb who is having growing pains as well and under their first year with their coach.
Exactly. The SEC is down this year in quality of play. They do not deserve 4 teams in the playoffs imo. Let's hope Texas, UT and Georgia all win this week so three can get in. The Big Ten should have 4 with Oregon, OSU, Penn St and IU…provided they win Saturday.

I'm less convinced the SEC is as bad as the W/L would suggest. The top teams aren't losing non conference games, they're either losing to top teams in the SEC or they're losing to other SEC teams. UT beating Bama and losing to UGA, while UGA loses to Bama but beats UT is excusable if these teams are equally capable. As far as having another conference loss on top, the SEC has always been that any given team is capable of beating any other team but not necessarily with consistency. There's always been upsets, but with NIL more evenly distributing talent, I think this type of outcome will be more common. What I disagree with is the idea that this somehow diminishes the SEC in relation to other conferences even though it would appear so on paper looking at wins and losses.

It's not W-L, but how they look. The SEC doesn't look very good, they don't play very good football week to week. Will they show up during the playoffs and get 2-3 teams in the semis? They might just do that.

I don't get the push for bama, ole miss and even sc at this point. Persians bias aside and even if UT were in that spot they have 3 losses. How many chances do we keep giving a team to win the natty? I think it's ridiculous. 2 is pushing the envelope. If you have 3 losses even in the best conference you obviously were not the best team in college football and even if by some miraculous way you were how can you feel like you are when you lost over 15% of your games? I know most of these other teams like Indiana and Miami played no one all year really but tallest kid in the room full of midgets hardly feels like an accomplishment to me.

Someone sent that to me yesterday. As much fun as I'm having with alabama (seemingly) eliminated from the playoffs, I'm also terrified that Tennessee lays an egg against Vandy and Bandwagon Nation, and their lead 🤡, our very own Sports Forum Moron, will get the last laugh. BVS is real.

I agree. I think If Alabama, Tennessee or anybody else wins the National championship with 3 losses is crazy.
I also think all wins and all losses are not equal.
This playoff isn't about being the best team in college football. It's about winning your conference and making the pre-qualifications.
When you have 12 teams competing in a playoff you are going to have several teams with 2 losses and maybe some with 3 losses on any given year.

The difference is if UT loses to Vandy my world will not crumble and I won't have to seek a safe space. 🤣 Will take some ribbing about it but not life changing.

Division II been doing it this way for years just like high school and you're right the best team may not win it all. Just have to be the best on THAT day. If they continue to expand the playoffs you'll have more 2 loss teams and possibly 3. Somebody mentioned on here about doing away with conference championship games and I can see that happening. Losing it shouldn't penalize you IMO.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I know. That's always been one of the things that make college football different. IMHO.
I like the bowl games. Getting to travel somewhere to play a team you don't usually play
I like the idea getting the best team. I think that should be the goal. Everybody will never agree on who the best teams are but I like that being the goal. That's just my opinion. It surly won't buy a pack of double bubble at the quick stop. 😂

That's incorrect. I took your opinion to the quick stop and they said it was well thought out, well presented, intelligent, and not antagonistic. They gave me a whole tank of gas! They did warn me if I ever brought that dipshit"s opinion back in there I'd be banned for life.

Crow Terminator, Take a deep breath, you can get trough this, we did. The 15 years will pass by before you know it.

A whole generation of kids finally got to see TN be relevant again.

I don't think Crow has kids, but when he does, maybe by the time they are old enough to care Bama will be back toward the top again.

Or, maybe just maybe, they become Vol fans. Somebody might get them one of those stuffed Smokey dogs that plays Rocky Top, and they will play it over and over and over!
