i know they are not an "archery shop" but come on man, common sense is pretty simple to use. I never take my stuff there but today i needed to get a few things and my kisser button broke yesterday so i thought i would just let them put it on...i mean how hard is that to do right?

so i told the guy mine broke yesterday and was moving all over the place which is why i needed a new one. So i handed him the new one and he puts it on and hands it back to me saying "there ya go, put it right where the old one was" hahah to which i have to say "did you not hear me when i came in and said it was MOVING which is WHY i had to get a new one?"

i mean really atleast put it on and let me make sure it is in the right spot!

for some twisted reason i for some reason like taking small things there just to get a laugh.

REN, you better watch stating your opinion about a business that sells/installs archery products in this forummost can see through this around here! ;) :D LOL

in before the bashing starts!

IDK what guy it was, it was the one that seemed to know what he was talking about the last time i was in there...not the younger guy that obviously doesnt know what he is doing. If it were that kid i would have just put it on myself rather then watch him try. i wouldnt trust that one to even put my bow in the vise.

I wonder how many complaints BPS gets about their "archery departments"?? What's worse is the customers that come looking for guidance on getting into archery. It just turns out to be the blind leading the blind.

hahaha no doubt, I have some experience with some of the guys in there as well. i was a hunting lead for a short time when i first moved up here before my real job started and the store opened up.....few of the same guys are still there.

the lack of knowledge in both departments is crazy. I was told to hire 2 kids in the gun dept one time that had never even been hunting. I asked how were they suppose to give guidance to customers on guns with no gun experience and was told to give them some pointers lol. the archery dept is even worse really. I will say there are 2 guys there that know about bows pretty well but they only work a few days a week and i never happen to see them when i go up there.

I bought new arrows @ bps earlier this year and the guyt that cut them didn't seat the inserts in all the way in. And I won't go to Gander Mtn. either. There was a good guy there last year but I went there twice this year just to have my peep moved and both times I went in there was no one there that could do it. So after that incident a pro shop gets 100% of my bow work from now on.

I think Matt, Chad, and Billy are pretty good at the BPS here in Nashville. I like Chad but I bought some Gold Tip Velocity Pros a couple weeks ago. I told him they were 300 spine and he kept telling me no they were not and he proceeded to tell me that only Easton had the proprietary rights to list their spine on arrows. He kepot telling me they were 340 spine and I kept telling him they were 300 spine. We finally looked it up and of course they were 300 spine. It wasn't a big deal and was never a heated argument, but neither of us were going to back down lol!

I got the same arrows UTGrad...had them cut them 27 1/2 inches...or they were supposed to...They're 3/4 inch longer than all my other arrows...Should have just bought them and took them elsewhere to have them cut...

:D Wow! I asked them to gut mine 27.5" as well and they were 28". They cut them 27.5" excluding the nock. It is my fault for not confirming with my other arrows. Archery Den cuts them from nock groove to the tip of the arrow (without a point of course). Let me tell you that 1/2" will not matter unless it drastically changes the spine of your arrow, which it shouldn't. I weighed my 27.5" Archery Den arrows and my 28" BPS arrows and there was only 6 grains difference. They group together nicely. I don't shoot archery for a living so I'm not going to get too anal about it.

Yeah, next time I'll just buy them there and have Jeremy cut them for me..or just keep getting arrows from him...just couldn't pass up that deal though...

Well maybe he just had a brain fart... Take it easy on him. Lol

oh i am not hating on them as i anyone should know they are not archery experts, just thought that it was funny that he set it where the old one was when i handed it to him the old one would just move freely and was barely hanging on. like i said there are a few guys there that are decent i just never seem to be there when they are.

If you buy from BPS I would probably have BPS do the work. I wouldn't buy from BPS then go to Archery Den to do the work.

None in the archery at Bass pro in Nashville have a clue. I have watched for entertainment and it is a joke and I am not the most knowledgeable by a long shot, but they are clueless. One friend purchased the HIT arrows recently and had BPS cut them. They messed up one insert which destroys the arrow. When he carried the arrow in, a BPS employee was working on a crossbow and noticed him standing there. He asked if he could help him. My friend explained about the arrow and the BPS employee THREW the crossbow into a box several feet stared at him and flew into him about did he leave the arrow flat. He did for a day. He said it was sad and was wondering whose crossbow that would be. I stood there with another friend who has forgot more about bows than most know and it was great entertainment watching them try to work on bows.

Which guy was it :D

Don't know, don't care. It is funny, as much as I get frustrated with BPS I still go back. Work and what is said is great entertainment in the archery shop. Jamie Brantley in the fishing department is probably the best they have for archery and he is a really nice guy.
