Bass Pro lol

If you have a problem in Bass Pro Archery shop, go to management. I have this from someone there, they want to know.

I got the same arrows UTGrad...had them cut them 27 1/2 inches...or they were supposed to...They're 3/4 inch longer than all my other arrows...Should have just bought them and took them elsewhere to have them cut...

:D Wow! I asked them to gut mine 27.5" as well and they were 28". They cut them 27.5" excluding the nock. It is my fault for not confirming with my other arrows. Archery Den cuts them from nock groove to the tip of the arrow (without a point of course). Let me tell you that 1/2" will not matter unless it drastically changes the spine of your arrow, which it shouldn't. I weighed my 27.5" Archery Den arrows and my 28" BPS arrows and there was only 6 grains difference. They group together nicely. I don't shoot archery for a living so I'm not going to get too anal about it.

Yeah, next time I'll just buy them there and have Jeremy cut them for me..or just keep getting arrows from him...just couldn't pass up that deal though...

If you buy from BPS I would probably have BPS do the work. I wouldn't buy from BPS then go to Archery Den to do the work.

Why not? If I pay them to cut the arrows, what the difference? No different than if I bought it online and had him take care of it...

why not? because it is just another nail in the coffin of real archery shops.i have seen it 1st hand. buy online then get the archery shop to fix it. they can't survive like that.

J&S, buy your arrows from Jeremy. He has Gold Tip ProHunters, Easton Flatline Surgicals, and several other arrows right there in the shop you can buy and have cut to size. If the arrows are in the shop you can buy as many as you want. If you need to order arrows, Jeremy can get them in a couple days.

One of the guys there just put a new string on my compound. Not the younger guy, Matt. Did a great job, for what its worth. Took his time and did everthing right. They are the closest for me...

yeah i am a bit confused as to why where you buy them matters....

If you think a bow shop can survive on bow maintenance work and cutting arrows, think again. Mortgage, utilities, insurance, payroll, inventory ... how many arrows do you think would have to be cut to cover one month's cost of operation? Let alone some $ over costs so that the household budget can also be met?

I understand that but at some point "local" shops are going to have to figure out a way to at least come close to other prices. I mean archery is an expensive sport and we are in a tough ecomomy so it is going to be tough for anyone to pay $20 give or take more for a dozen arrows. some will, i cant...i have no issue paying for for bow work or things like that but common equipment is something i have to buy at the lowest i can find it.

this is from somebody that knows first-hand. EWA is still sadly missed. hi teresa :)

I kind of miss having a pro shop but Nashville has never really had one (I like the Archery Den) and that is why I learned how to do everything myself. All you need is a press that will handle your bow. It is not rocket science, and it is fun being able to do your own work.
I agree with REN, it is sort of like the local gun store here (well kind of, the local gun store here is rude, unfriendly and once in a blue moon has a fair price on something) but he complains to me that I never buy anything from him and others don't. I am not going to pay 100 dollars or more above what I can buy something for to keep him in business.

I guess we are lucky here in Memphis. The local pro shop is almost always cheaper than the big retailers and the service is top notch. I bought a sight on impulse last time I was in there. Got home and looked it up on Bass Pro's website only to find that Bass Pro had it listed for 30% more!

Bass Pro is not the only culprit!! 99% of all "PRO" shops ive been in don't know half of what "I" think they sould know which is the #1 reason why i do ALL my own stuff on my bows!!
