Benelli M2 20 Gauge with TSS vs. 12 ga with 5 shot

"I guess it's hard to say that the 20 is better or superior to the 12 but definitely not under gunned when compared to the 12 with many advantages including recoil for me."

Totally agree.

My favorite 12 ga load has always been 1 3/4 oz. Thus, 1/8 oz heavier payload. It is a little higher velocity load, which does up the recoil. But, with a heavier gun, it is pretty much a wash with my 20. The 20 ga. has some advantages, but recoil certainly isn't a major one for me.
Makes sense Steve, but many of us have always shot 2+ ounces in our 3.5" Magnum 12G, with some us (not naming any names) thinking it would be cool to shoot 2 7/16 ounces, loaded at max (likely exceeded) SAAMI pressures, thus MAX recoil and teeth chatter.

As Wes has alluded to many times, I think too tight of a choke and recoil are the two biggest contributors for hunters missing and wounding turkeys.

What shot size?

#5 It is the Winchester High Velocity load that I nicknamed "Black Death" (black shells) for how effective they were out of my Remington shotguns with just a Remington turkey choke.
These Walmart specials are very overlooked. They are hard to beat.

Saw this and couldn't resist. [emoji16]

Great shells, and the shells I hunted with for years around 2000-2006 or so. I shot 3.5" #4s out of my 870 12G.

So has anyone seen the tss blends available at Walmart? 40%tss 20% #5 lead and then 20% of some other lead. These were about 15 bucks for 5 shells. Didn't realize they had a version (although very diff) there

Yes I saw these at my local wally world too. Didn't even know they made such a thing. Same price $15 for 5 shells.

That was me in the video. I wanted to see how my 20 gauge would perform vs my 12 gauge. I think the results speak for themselves. At 60 yards ( and any other distance), the 20 gauge with TSS did just as well if not better than the 12 gauge with 5 shot. And keep in mind, the TSS is going to be much denser and have much more penetration. It's like getting hit in the head with a tennis ball or a baseball.

I'll be hunting with the 20 gauge with TSS this season.
