best archery sight

Lung Puncher -- They are actually the same ball park as the Spot Hoggs...and depending on what model, they are cheaper. I have the Axcel HD on my hunting rig but I just gave $169 for it brand new. The last Hogg It I bought new, I paid $200 even and that was the cheapest I found it anywhere. Those Axcels are bomb proof. I love mine and how adjustable it is. I waited a long time for a sight like this. Ain't planning on trading anytime soon either. LOL

But those Copper Johns are pretty doggone close to the same chassis as the Axcel for about $100 less.

Pendulem, takes all the yardage and elevation questions out of the picture while only using one pin, I have used many brands of pendulems and have even made my own, I use a Savage now, you have to have a fast bow for it to work right, I have never understood why anyone would want to have to judge distance and have to pick a pin

i have found the pendulum sights to be worthless in hilly terrain. you may have a 45 degree 20 yd shot in one direction and have a level 20 yd shot in the other direction. i use 1 pin set at 20 yds. good for dead-on hold to 30 yds.

hilly terrain is why I use one...its what they are made for, my old farm in Gallatin had so much diferent type of terrain... especially hills, I had to do something to compensate for those downhill and uphill shots, except for directly below the stand which is a dumb shot its as simple as aim your pin on your target and release, my bow is chrono'd at 310 fps, I can shoot 0-36 yds with no dropage on flat ground but it will shoot slightly low....1"-2", in a tree over 15 ft its dead on from 5-40 yds, I hunt on average 30' high but last year I took my 201" buck hunting on the ground using the pendulem at 25 yds, I see a lot of guys shake their head at them but you won't ever hear me say I picked the wrong pin or I wish I had time to get a yardage on that 160" buck so I knew which pin to use, just about every book buck I have taken came to rattling horns and I had no more than 5-10 seconds to take the shot, don't get me wrong...I've missed some whoppers when trying to take unorthadox shots but it was always hunter error...not the sight, but to each his own as we all say on here

I have an HHA. I keep it locked down on 25yrds and it works great for me. I had an extra cooper john, but gave it to a buddy of mine, He has never even put it on his bow and might be willing to part with it. I'll ask him tomorrow and see.

your telling me your arrow doesnt drop until it hits 36yrds there is no way it is not possible unless your shooting 400fps or better

I had it chrono'd last year at 310 fps, I'll be happy to show you, my arrow is as light as I can get it without the Bow exploding as if it was dry fired, 75 grain rocket expandables broadheads....etc. I will be happy to demonstrate, its why I cant understand why anyone would want to have multiple pins

If your shooting flat out to 36 yards you would just need one pin anyway wiithout a pendulum sight. Would be nice not to have to judge distance. But then again its one of the challenges of bowhunting and thats why I do it.

I found out, for me, years ago My fav site is any fiber optic swing pendelum type site.
One pin only of course. The speed and power of today's bows there should be no reason, at least hunting in thick woods, for a 10 and a 20 and a 30 yard pin type sight. I realize everyone has their favourite site and swear by it.
All I'm saying is for me, the single pin pendelum has worked wonders for me for years.

If your saying you can use one pin out to 36 yards by sighting in somewhere like 25 and the arrow hits a little high or low depending on the yardage but still in the vitals, I'll by that. If you are saying you arrow doesn't drop at all out to 36 yards, I call BS.

maybe its the slight swing in the pendulem that makes up the difference, all im saying is I place the red dot from the fiber optic on the target from 0-35 yds and its dead on, out of a tree it is dead on out to 40 yds with one pin, although I dont really practice that shot often and have never taken a deer more than 30-35 yds, I will be busting out the bow in a few weeks I guess and maybe I can get some video footage of it

Its the sight. If the pendulum is swinging, that would mean you are having to raise you bow for longer shots because the arrow is dropping. The arrow is dropping, just the sight moves to where you can still hold dead on.

I have shot a few pendulum sights and they dont work in the hills here.I know people in alabama that hunt with them but they are flat land guys and they love them.I like fiber optic sights in the .19 size area. I aint killed no 201 but Ive killed a bunch with these kind of sights.
