want to buy a handful of inexpensive cams. long battery life a must. suggestions please??? under 100$

thanks in advance

The Moultrie m80 is really neat for the price and it has long battery life for which you will get your money back. I have used Moultries exclusively now for about 6 years and really like them....but i was using d40's and 50's and this 80 beats them badly. good pic quality, good investment for the $
:)

For under $100 I don't think you can beat the Spypoint G4. It's available for $99 with free shipping from Gander Mountain. I have 4 of them and they are rock solid dependable with incredibly long battery life. I used Energizer lithium AA's in mine and they are still going strong at 9 months! The G4 has been recently upgraded to also record sound when it's in video mode. Unfortunately mine are the previous generation without the sound feature.

Spypoint cameras have a fantastic reputation for reliability. They are also known for having some of the best customer service in the trail camera industry.

Don't take my word for it - read the 209 reviews for the G4 on the website:

Love My Moultrie M80. awesome battery life, trigger, detail, size of cam and ease of use. best moultrie to date.

So far I have really liked my Primos Ultra 35. Supposed to go 50,000+ pics on 8 AA batteries. I tested it around home with good results, now it is in the field. Price is $119 at Bass pro, so I am sure you could find one for around $100 elsewhere online.

thanks guys. wow 9 months on double aa. that is incredible

Keep in mind that I'm using Energizer lithium batteries, which are quite a bit more expensive then regular Duracell or Energizer alkaline batteries. The extra cost of lithium batteries is worth it to me because some of my cameras are in remote locations and I'm only able to check them every few months. I buy them in bulk on Amazon.com because they are ridiculously expensive at most stores.
