Best Choke Tube

I went with a Comp N Choke for my mossberg rattletrap.

Fixing to get a Browning Silver and that is what I will put in it as well.

They will tell you which one you need for the Remington.

I do not know what the best is because I have not shot all of them. With that said, I did shoot a Kicks Gobbling Thunder for 10+ years and had great results with it. You can call Kicks Industries and tell them what gun you are shooting, the barrel length, the length of shells you are shooting and the shot size and they will recommend a constriction for you. Unless they have changed something, it is a money back guarantee so you can return the choke if you are not satisfied or if you want to try a different constriction. http://www.kicks-ind.com/mm5/merchant.m ... linThunder

Last year I changed my load and purchased an Indian Creek choke. My new IC choke shot my new load better than my Kicks GT. Therefore I now shoot an IC choke and it rocks in my gun with my new load. http://www.indiancreekss.com/ You can also call IC and describe your gun/bbl length/shot shell length/shot size and they too will recommend you a constriction. I recommend this regardless of what choke you go with. It may not be the final answer but it is a good start.

Word of advice - what choke/load combination that shoots best in your buddy's gun may or may not shoot best in your gun (even with exact gun and exact load). It will most likely shoot the same or similar more times than not, but there will be times that you can shoot the same choke and load out of two identical guns and get different results. While they may not be grossly different, they still may be somewhat different. Moral of the story - shoot your gun/load/choke combo to verify what it is or is not doing.

I have also heard great things about Rhino chokes from several of my hunting buds but I have never owned/shot one.

Best of luck with your new choke.

FWIW - Kicks and Comp-N-Choke are owned by the same gentleman and have the same mailing address in GA. My very first "turkey choke" was a Comp-N-Choke but it did not shoot that well in my gun with the load I was experimenting with. I called the owner and he said send it back and I will send you a Kicks GT to try. That is how I ended up with a Kicks at the time. Bottom line - you have to shoot was works best for your gun/load combination and this may require some experimenting as it did for me.

I shoot an 870 and the best pattern I got at 40yrd is with the Remington Xtra Full extended choke. Plus it was about $25. Like people have written above it all comes down to what works best with the load you are shooting

I shoot a WINCHESTER SUPER X2 With an UNDERTAKER choke. Im really pleased with it. UNDERTAKER chokes are also a little lighter on the ole pocket book

the pure gold .670 should give you a good pattern.the jellyhead .660 is great if you can find one and the .665 isn't bad either.every gun is diff though

Good luck, as I just got rid of my last 870sm, as it simply wouldnt perform at 40+ yards like many other guns I have owned regardless of which of many chokes and loads I tried. It now has a new home!
