I just bought a Browning Maxus and was going to use it for turkey hunting. Does anyone else use this shotgun and what is the best choke tube and what size and type shell?

If you call William from sumtoy he can give you some recommendations on construction and if it doesn't shoot you can send it back for a different construction. If all fails he will give you youroney back. Hard to beat that

If you dont want to spend a ton of money and you are shooting heavi shot of some kind look at the Primos Jelly Head. But like others have said its hard to beat a Kicks while shooting led shot.

just to add, you dont have to buy new...that will save some money.

you can always get on the classifieds over on oldgobbler.com and look around or ask for what you are looking for and find some good deals.

there are some pure gold chokes only shot a few times for under $50 which is $20 below retail, just as an example.

Kicks does not recomend hevi shot for whatever reason but I can assure you their chokes work excellent with it and they will stand behind their product as well as anyone. I have no agenda to push their chokes but after years of dealin with many different ones they are heads above the rest. Rhino is not even in the same class....If $$ is an issue look at Hastings or Undertaker...

The best choke tube for you and your exact gun is the one that shoots the best with your combination (gun, bbl length and ammo). The answer will be different for every gun. So unless one shoots your exact gun, exact barrel and exact ammo with every choke out there, they will not know what is best for your exact hunting situation (gun, ammo, woods, fields, short shots, long shots, etc). With my hunting rig and ammo of choice, the Indian Creek Black Diamond is awesome. I have tried several chokes in my gun, but not all of them. One of my friends shoots a Rhino and another good buddy shoots a $25 no name choke from Wally World. They both shoot great in their respective guns and they both flat kill their share of turkeys every year in the states they hunt. At the end of the day, the choke is not what puts the meat on the table. A certain choke name, restriction etc may help or may hurt you in certain situations, but a specific choke is not a silver bullet as many seem to think. My advice is to research them as much as you can (good start here) and then shoot as many as you possibly can through your exact hunting rig (gun, bbl, ammo) and make an informed decision. Best of luck.
