I'm new to crossbows as well. I've been shooting compounds for over 30 years now but as I get older it is harder to see through the peep sight. So I decided to get a crossbow. I was in Cabela's in Huntsville and they had a Barnett Whitetail Hunter Pro on sale for $399. It's compact, lightweight and shoots 380fps. So far I love it. Can't wait for archery season to try on a deer.

Same here with the bow that I bought. Can't wait for deer season to put her in some real action.
