Best field dressing knife

Works great.

I have gotten to where I use a Mora for this reason. I have a couple of nice(ish) knives that I carry into the woods for time to time, but I'm always worried about losing them. A Mora can be had with a bright orange handle that stands out against the forest floor, and I don't cry if I lose it.

But I also really like my buck 102 for its size

I've got the Swingblaze by Outdoor Edge and a Cabela's Alaskan Guide Series knife by Buck Knives. It's the Vanguard series made by Buck and is pretty sharp out of the box and has held an edge pretty well over several seasons.

I carry a case folding hunter, but legitimately, it doesn't matter if it is sharp. I feel like most of the time we carry something for the pageantry of it.

I have field dressed many deer with Victorinox pruning knife with 2.25" blade. Works excellent and easy to carry.

Any pocket knife I carry is capable of field dressing a deer with, I have used a Case copperlock and a Number 6 Opinel to field dress, skin, quarter, and decapitate deer all without resharpening.

Here is my list if I had to rank them…

Case Folding Hunter
Bucklite 110
Case Copperlock
Benchmade Bugout
Opinel No.6
Case stockman
Victorinox pruner/hawkbill
