I'm watching my cell cam….. almost got him. Maybe he'll come back tonight if he didn't dig me up….. that trap has been dug up twice now or maybe he will hit the dirt hole set 10 yards back?????

Heck yeah, years ago I would boil my traps in tree bark, then started using logwood dye.

Heck yeah, years ago I would boil my traps in tree bark, then started using logwood dye.

I was around 13 when I boiled my first long spring traps with my grandfather, came in a bag and was like a shredded bark, not the powder that we use today. At 55 it still feels like a "Right of Passage" for the season, same as that first whiff of skunk in the Fall….running behind this year.
Got about 5 dozen done and letting the drags soak for the night.

You'll get him, just have to let them soak sometimes.
