Big Buck ..Bad insides .

I was lucky enough to kill a big 8 last week . Ky archery , when I opened the cavity I saw something I've never seen in 60 plus years and literally 100s of deer . The intestines were covered in a stretchy film like sac . It was semi translucent and had white spider web veins all over it . I could pull it up and let go and it would go back to its original shape . It was covering most all of the intestines , not just one organ . I can never get pics to post on here or I would . One pic would tell a thousand words . Hoping a biologist will see this and let me text the pics . Really curious as to what this is ?
Ky Fish & Game said , after I texted pics, " no problems it's ok " . Didn't tell me what it was though . Naturally , I didn't believe him and the yotes will get the meat .

It's caul fat. Steven Rinella from Meateater uses it to cook with. He's actually a big proponent of keeping it for use in cooking.

All deer have that membrane, they just don't all have that much fat on it. Supposed to be good for cooking with.

Lots of them have that fat, but that is the most I've ever seen. I think all of them have a little usually.

It just looks different this year because the deer are carrying so much fat.
