Big ole crappie

This is a guy my best friend works with.
They were in Mississippi.
I have heard of the place, starts with an E, Escanaba maybe?

Anyway, said it weighed 3.5 pounds.
Kicker was, it was the very first fish they caught that day. LOL

Monster! I caught one in a local lake 2 years ago that weighed 3lbs 6oz. I caught it on a zoom baby brush hog while bass fishing.

Looks like either an Enid or Arklabutla (sp?) fish. I don't catch as many at Ark but there are some hosses in there.

Ruger said a lake in Mississippi. Thought it might start with an E. I said maybe Enid. I cannot look at a fish and know where it came from.

Thanks bigmonts! I've fished Enid a lot and you can catch some big ones there. The world record 5+ lb white crappie was caught there in 1957. But, Granada has bigger fish generally. The next 3 lb fish I catch is going on the wall.

I cant remember the name but its not Enid that pumps out all of those giant crappie. Its in central MS and has a ton of flooded timber if that's where it is from...its on the tip of my tongue...
