All of these deer have came.from the BSF...and even the big shed was found in the bsf by my grandfather.

BSF is my favorite public land to hunt. I hunted up there 3or 4 times before I got it figured out. All it took was a local slashing my tires to know I was in a good spot (I guess I got up earlier than he did lol). I missed a 130ish buck last year with a bow. I simply miss judged my yardage due to the incline. I have killed two does and a small hog up there. I have let several small bucks walk. I have seen deer, elk, bear and hogs all over the past 3 years. My best advise is hunt where its hard to get. There are miles of forest that don't see people, this place is huge. Scout if there is sign there is deer (may be night activity). Even if you sit all day and don't see an animal at all, I promise you are at least sitting in the most beautiful woods TN has to offer.

I've killed a few hogs there after deer season. I strongly suggest a Spot, InReach or other "save my butt" device. They don't call it "No Business" for nothing. Love it there.

If anyone is interested in going up to hog hunt, I have a motor home. I'd love to go up on a Friday and hunt till Sunday night for hogs. I live in Knoxville. PM me if you might be interested. I have NO idea where to start so if you have any knowledge it would help! :D

What weapon to you hog hunt with after deer season? If shotgun, what load?

BSF has a hog season that runs through Feb. Centerfielder rifles are legal. Just need a permit.

No on the buckshot. I've killed a bunch of coyotes with the heavy shot "dead coyote" loads and wouldn't think twice about shooting an average to small size pig with one. They are legal to use in TN, but are rather pricey.

I will say this..Hog hunting the BSF is a task! it is a rewarding task, because of the beauty of the land, the history the land holds, and just getting out and doing some walking.

You can use a rifle during the extended season. Good luck with it, no mast so most hogs should be outside of the park plus they've been taking a beating on private land around the park all year. Those of us with land around the park don't have to play by the park rules so there's a lot of spotlighting, shooting at night over bait, and trapping going on.

What general area of bsf do u like to hunt , more towards new river , more towards Oneida ? Or . Have scouted a lot of a certain area of bsf and found some sign but still not quite what I'm after .
I would like to talk to u some in pm if u would be willing to .
