Agree, I have had a few encounters but have yet to connect. I would say I have hunted them 20 days during the last 5 years. I hear they are considering an archery hunt- no dogs on south cherokkee this year. I hear you, man. I will kill a TN bear stalking/still hunting, but you need to have no illusions of how difficult a task this is. This is not "back 40" hunting. You're goona have to get out there and log some miles through quite challenging terrain and learn to appreciate Mountain Laurel thickets. I have hunted bear 7 days in the last 2 years. I expect that it may take 15-30 days spent hunting to luck into the opportunity for success.
