Blackhorn 209 vs. Jim Shockey gold

I just had my first experience with BH yesterday. Previously with pyrodex I couldn't shoot more than three times without having to clean the gun. I shot 9 times yesterday and probably could have kept going. Plus when I ran a swab through it I could not believe how easily it cleaned. And how little there was to clean. Another plus was that it did not produce a lot of smoke.

Well Im sold.

If I can find some locally and have time to do load testing Ill switch.

I get good groups from 2- 50gr pyrodex pellets and a 300gr xtp mag. Approx 2" at 100yd. So I am not in a huge hurry to change up, especially since I just started a new box of pyrodex pellets last season. It sux worrying that I might forget or be too tired to clean it after a long hunting day when using pyrodex.
