I acquired an electric blackstone and wondering if anybody uses one and what your thoughts are. I cleaned it up, plugged it in, and it fired up.

I didn't know they had them. I imagine it would be like any other electric griddle, for 3x the price.
I've never used one except at deer camp and it's propane. I have one that runs on propane for camp that I haven't seasoned yet as we've used my brothers. The cooking tray on the electric one looks different so we'll see. The price was right!

Ditto Im curious on this too.
I would think it's like an electric stove. Slow to cool when needed. I prefer cooking with gas.

I have one and i can say that our cook top stove barely gets touched since i have had it. It cooks very evenly across the whole griddle and it cleans up great. You will love it
does it get adequately hot to sear

Yes sir it does especially sous vide steak i actually use it more than my gas blackstone as in i set it on it if i want to cook outside
