Blessed!

I can't tell you how much I appreciate that post. Super happy for you both and always cherish the memories!

My dad and I have been hunting together since I was 8 yrs old. I'm 48 now and this will be the first year that we don't get to do so. His health has declined to the point where he doesn't feel comfortable heading to camp now. While my 17yr old son will be with me (and I cherish that just as much), I will dearly miss having my dad by our side at camp this year. I am sure I will be recalling as many memories as possible this year while sitting around camp and in the woods and I am happy he is still here on earth with us. But, boy I will miss him at camp this year!

I've been deer hunting with my dad for 45 years and today we were both blessed to be able to punch a tag! He is 81 years old and still has the desire and ability to bring home the meat! I appreciate the time we have together doing what we love.
That is just great. Congrats to you both.

Enjoy every second. I lost my Dad in 05'. My hunting buddy's Dad still goes with us, just turned 80. Man has more energy than we do in our 50's. He treats me like one of his own and I truly show him is due respect as he was my father. Cherish every second.

Priceless! I know how it much this hunt meant to both of you. I laid my father to rest last week and then shot my best buck yesterday. I prayed before I got out of the stand to thank God and my father for the memories we shared together.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Prayers for your family.

Congratulations to both of you! What I wouldn't give to go on a deer hunt with my granddaddy.
