I'm gona pick up a few new pieces of camo before the season starts. What camo are yall liking better these days bottomland or obsession?

I like the new obsession quite well. Not so big on the old obsession. I'm a big greenleaf fan. Not that any of it truly matters except to us.

Yeah, Im really liking bottomland but I can't find a "leafy" suit in it.

Bottomland is a little too dark for where I hunt. Realtree AP is my favorite.

I like to mix and match too. Bottomland pants and obsession top would be my choice.

I've never seen a leafy suit in bottomland. I wear a leafy Realtree AP top with non-leafy pants. I've had turkeys walk right by me in the wide open woods without them spooky.

"Mix & Match" is definitely the best camo pattern that exists. :tu:

I've even been known to wear two pair of thin pants, each having the other leg missing, each of different camo patterns. Also like a darker pattern vest (a regular clothing "vest" under my turkey vest), on top of a lighter pattern shirt.

I do not like any type "leafy" wear pants for turkey hunting because they snag worse on briars.
But do like "leafy" headgear and sometimes upper-wear. Good for sitting, but not for walking thru brush.

But truth is, turkeys typically pay little attention to any motionless object ---- pop-up blinds should certainly prove that to anyone.

How many times have you had turkeys walk by unalarmed, while wearing a fluorescent orange vest & cap?
Often they notice, but do not spook.

This is how I roll. In the early season I wear treestand up top instead of obsession.

Real tree won't touch my body, ever.

Bottomland is probably to dark a pattern me also but I get suckered into new camo. I know the deer and turkeys don't care what it looks like but for some reason I still do.

Same here. I turkey hunt and bow hunt in the same clothes, pretty much a mix/match of whatever lightweight camo I have bought over the years. I'll transition to top wear with more green in it about the third week of season.

I wear a lot of the old school mossy oak patterns(Bottomland, Full Foliage, Treestand, Greenleaf, Forest Floor, and Shadowleaf). Lot of my stuff is old, but well kept. I have also scooped up a lot from ebay over the years. I mix and match as season progresses as well. I like to disappear as much as possible. Along with choosing a good background, those older patterns help me do just that. As for those who say turkeys are not able to "pick out" objects that are out of the ordinary, they usually are not hunting well educated, hard pressured Gobblers ;) Picking a good background when setting up, along with blending in and being still, will help you kill more turkeys.

I have for sure, more than once. Last deer season had 3 longbeards about 15 yards in front of me giving me that curious look. I was filming them and one might have caught some movement and started putting a little. But they never ran off, just turned and walked back the way they came.

I've never had turkeys within shotgun range that didn't get spooky when wearing orange.

Big difference in turkeys coming by while you are deer hunting and when you are actively calling. Turkeys looking for that "hen" are on red alert and looking for anything out of place. Also, spring and breeding should make them more wary as their breeding instincts are in full control.

Those patterns are great the Fall Foliage pants with a Bottomland top or green leaf top make you vanish if you're still.
Really wish Mossy Oak would bring them all back for good.
I just have obsession now but it's normally to green for my liking for half of the season.

That's a great idea! I would have never thought of wearing 2 pairs of pants with one leg cut out of each. That's pretty crafty. I agree I have had turkeys walk right by me, one time within about 15 feet, without spooking, while wearing hunter orange, but staying perfectly still.

!0-4 A perfect example of how "New " is not always better ;) Check ebay from time to time. Good buys pop up on there every now and then.
