Box call or slate(pot) call?

A box is the easiest to get started on. But if you start now, you can probably create a decent yelp, cluck, and purr by the time the season starts on a slate ( my personal favorite). I learned how to make the calls on the slate fairly quickly, but its taken me years to learn what call to make and when. As well as when not to call at all.

Hard to beat a box call for a beginner, but with that said, alittle practice on a slate call, its real versitile, and its what I like best.
