Bucks moving!

Great movement Saturday morning. Finally a little chill until typical heat wave. Young bucks moving but still barely interested in checking does. Wouldn't even call it cruising.

Got a chase video right before daybreak this morning.

No scrapes seen???

Bucks are really starting to hit the scrapes hard at my place, but almost all of it at night.
 
I went out this morning around nine and hunted til 130 and when left went out a way I usually don't and about sixty yds from my stand on opposite side of ridge found a fresh pawing and four trees ripped to shreds. Know that scrape is was fresh because wasn't a leaf in it all I can figure is he went over or down and I just didn't see him, I'm sure I would've if been looking that way but I've honestly never seen a deer come from that side but once in last six years.
 
After reading this and seeing where a lot of yal were getting pictures on foodplots. Most of my cameras were on scrapes a few on water. I added some to our foodplots And they are getting hammered. Scrapes are getting worked all the way through the last 3 to 5 days. Rut going to happen regardless just wish we had a cold front close. Picking up some new bucks as well.
 
Still seeing about half the bucks in bachelor groups... even some mature bucks in bachelor groups. Starting to see some pestering of does by the young bucks.

Both observations are markedly late compared to normal years. Just aren't close to being ready on my farms.

This is what I have seen in very severe drought years. And although I don't have fetal conception dates to prove it, all of the indicators were of a peak breeding about 10 days late in those severe drought years.
