Seems strange . Is strange but I hunted some land for a long time that bordered a heavily hunted open area that boasted killing 100 deer per year on a small parcel. The hunting at the land i was on was upper end . Great numbers and killed some really good bucks for tn. Largest was 155in ten. Can't count the 120 to 130 8s . 137 , 140s 9 and 10OK, just looked at who their neighbors are. That explains it. Almost 3,000 acres of much more intensive habitat management and lower deer harvest. But I would still be pissed if I was a neighbor (and one I know quite well - a past client). I'll have to ask them what they think of the Refuge's harvest practices.
yes, his was 143lbs dressedSounds like a great hunt, congrats to you and your son. Are those weights "live weights" with internals included?
you could smell him walking up, but he wasn't super dark. The guide said the Dec Vet hunt there is lots of rutting action then.Congrats! Out of curiosity what's the tarsals look like?
Nice buck. Congratulations to your son. What an amazing hunt that TWRA put on. From all the TWRA staff and volunteers, made this hunt incredible. We had 27 kids and when we left last night, there was 22 deer killed. My son busted a 2.5 y/o 117 5/8" 9 pt that weighed 181.1 lbs about 45 mins after daylight. It was the 2nd largest buck. Another kid killed his first buck, it was a 4.5 y/o 155" 10pt that weighed in at 237 lbs.

@Shooter77 How do you put in for the Veteran's hunt? I'm assuming vets have to have some type of disability, correct?you could smell him walking up, but he wasn't super dark. The guide said the Dec Vet hunt there is lots of rutting action then.
I'm not sure when that hunt registration is. The hunt is usually in early Dec. It's for any vet.@Shooter77 How do you put in for the Veteran's hunt? I'm assuming vets have to have some type of disability, correct?
