The key is recruiting and the best high school talent is undoubtedly in FL, the SE, TX and CA. With Urban's arrival my Buckeyes have 21 players from the SE (8 from GA and 7 from FL). Plus some more from TX (JT Barrett). Almost all are freshman and sophomores. This is Michigan's major problem and something that will take Harbaugh several years to rectify if ever.
You have to include Ohio on that list. Many of the playmakers for Ohio State were not from FL, TX, CA or the southeast.
Cardale Jones - Ohio
Ezekiel Elliot - Missouri
Devin Smith - Ohio
Evan Spencer - Illinois
Michael Bennett - Ohio
Adolphus Washington - Ohio
Jalin Marshall - Ohio
Steve Miller - Ohio
Curtis Grant - Virginia
Doran Grant - Ohio
All 5 starting OL - Ohio.
I think Harbaugh will be able to recruit nationally as well as anybody. I dislike Michigan more than any other program, but their brand is still very strong and they have a lot to offer recruits. Harbaugh's brand is also very strong. Also, Michigan is always able to steal a few top recruits from the state of Ohio. I expect Harbaugh to be very successful at doing that.
