Anybody know what's going on with this guy? Did he snag his coin purse during velvet at some point in his life?

where was this taken at if you dont mind me asking?

I ask because my uncle got a big 4pt in velvet in and it looks like this one. It was killed in Obion Co up around reelfoot lake area

Nevermind its a different buck. Pretty amazing theres 2 around that almost look identical tho.

The deer my uncle has both its main beams wrap around more instead of the one in the pic is going up

He/She/It does have a skinny neck but look how big the other parts of the body look? I can say every deer in velvet that I have seen checked in during this time of year were does, but it was only like two.
I had an antlered doe killed off of our place 3 years ago, but she was out of velvet.

I'm in Fayette Co, did your uncle's buck show any signs of injury to his jewels??

Woodsman, u think his skinny neck could be bc he's not affected by the rut? Am I correct in assuming a hot doe trottin by prolly wouldn't peak his interest due to low testosterone? I appreciate y'all's help!

He said it had only one testicle and it was about the size of the end of your thumb.

Im not no deer biologist, but his/her neck does look skinny that of a doe would look. I would guess from lack of testosterone. But then again, wouldn't a doe have to have extra amounts of testosterone to grow antlers? I have heard that a buck sheds his anlters when his testosterone levels plummet.
Is this a girly man or a manly girl?

Here's another angle. Not 100% certain, but I think I've read where a rise in testosterone levels triggers velvet shedding. So, if he's not producing test, his velvet antlers will continue to grow and ossify. Also I think without test, he won't shed his antlers either, so will his velvet just continue to grow year round?
