For those that carry a pistol during hunting season what's the best way you have found to carry.
I wear bibs all season and switching to the saddle I don't want to carry on the hip.
Thought about this, anyone used something similar?

I've used the Marsupial shown above several times. If I were in a stand it worked fine. In a saddle not so much. A bit in the way. That said, I never found a way to carry in a saddle setup that wasn't cumbersome at some point. I do love Marsupial gear stuff but that holster felt like it was an after thought to me. Didn't feel as sturdy as I would've expected given how well the bino harness performs.

When saddle hunting.......USGI ACU Canteen Pouch attached to hip belt of pack via molle. In the pouch I attached a CrossBreed Pocket Holster. I tried several other things like you are attempting 4 years ago when I crossed over to saddle hunting. This setup works great for me. Good luck in your search for the best setup.

Either way, I'd recommend a secured holster with a strap to keep it secured even if it isn't as fast to get it drawn.

So last year during bow season, I went bow hunting and had my carry piece clipped to my waist.

I Went up a tree with muscadine vines. To be stealthy, I went through the vines instead of pulling them down. When I got back to the truck in the dark, I started wondering where my carry went.

I started second guessing everything. Surely I'd have heard it drop or noticed it was missing or seen it on the ground as I was packing up. I thought, surely I left it at home and not lost it. I got home and couldn't find it in the 2 or 3 places it should have been. I realized I then I had lost it in the woods.

No need to panic or go searching in the dark. I woke up early the next morning and started retracing my steps. No luck. When I got to the tree I felt deflated when I didn't see it. I double checked to make sure I was at the same tree I climbed when I spotted it.

I had it stripped off by the muscadine vines and it was still hanging there from the night before about 6 feet off the ground!

I have a holster that I 550 corded to the inside part of my chest strap on my safety harness.

If it can be lost in the woods I can do it! I have to keep everything tied down and in it's spot.
