Went out for 3 hours today to practice flipping as I'm supposed to fish a tourney on KY Lake on Saturday and I haven't flipped in a long time. Id say it went okay. Priest is about 6 ft over pool with flooding so I was flipping back in the flooded areas. Largest bass I've ever landed! I set the hook and it jumped straight up out fo the water and I screamed like a little girl (I'm 6'6" 300 lbs). She was already spawned out at 7lbs 6 oz and I bet wouldve hit 9 with eggs. Huge shoulders. It hurt me deeply but I promised my wife the first fish over 7 that I landed we would mount in the Lakehouse, so she came home with me.

Congratulations!

It's been proven through history that women's a mystery! Popeye

Congrats, skin mounts are the best imo! However with eggs I don't think it would give 1.8 more in weight! Who is going to do your mount? Cost?

Good fish! You've got to love the old flipping stick. I love flipping bushes for post spawn fish. I've caught my two biggest fish in heavy cover on the long pole. One of them was in a tournament.

Yep, we cussed a bit. Dropped the lake over 1 ft and we couldnt even get to a few areas that we wanted. 70 boats in tourney we caught several keeps but never anything big, weighed in 15 lb. Only about 30 or so even weighed in and several 3 and 4 fish sacks. Lots of 18lb sacks. We were just in the middle. Winner was 26 lbs and had a 7.92 and a 6.5. 2nd was 20 lbs and had 2 5lbers. Someone always finds them but I only remember 2 fish that looked like they still had eggs. Surely the spawn isnt over?? Talked the the second place boat for a bit, they ran all way down to new johnsonville and fished until 1 pm and never caught a fish. He saif they thought about packing it in for the day but ran back up around paris landing and fished one last spot and caught 6 fish, all keepers and weighed in over 20lbs, only 6 fish they caught all day. Guy admitted it was dumb luck. WE never caught a fish shallow, all of ours came on secondary points on steeper banks. Water drop and high pressure rolled in combined with a 15-20 mph south wind was fairly miserable. Oh yeah, and it got hot!!

I fished the state tournament Friday and Saturday out of birdsong. We ran to standing rock and had two limits fairly quickly and left the spot for Saturday. The water came down and our fish left needless to say.
