I went and bought 1000 small rifle primers today and when I got home I noticed I had picked up a mislabeled (price tag not box) box of cci br4. My question is, can I interchange them with my already proven cci 400 loads or use them for something else?

Just like Federal 205 and 205M, the 400 and BR4 should be exactly alike. The difference is the BR4 are more consistent. Manufacturing processes have tighter controls.

I have never, since mid-1980's, had a Federal "M" primer fail. I am sure the CCI users will chime in with similar BRx experiences

So yes, the answer is they are interchangeable.

in my testing the BR4 is more like the CCI450 than the 400,,,depending on what powder your using and in what caliber,,

just back off a little and load 5 and work up to your load,,you wont know for sure until you try it,,

It will be for 204, and 223 mostly benchmark powder
