You are crazier than I am! I seen one in Yellowstone hiking...pretty cool because she wouldnt cross the river, she would put her paw In to test the water and I guess it was too cold for her! I also watched a wolf and grizzly get into it over a buffalo carcass, the rangers had just shut the trail down so we were able to watch it briefly from a high vantage point across the Yellowstone River...thats was cool too!
I also seen one north of Gillette last year after shooting a mule deer, he was skylined on a ridge and look 10x's bigger than he was. That was my creepiest experience because last year they hadnt "officially" made it that far east yet.
But to hear them howl is an outright raw experience that you could not possibly ever describe.
