I was out in my shop tonight doing inventory on reloading components when I decided to inspect the shells I had left over from last spring. They had been stored in an MTM plastic shell holder in my shop where the temperature varies from 30-35 in winter to maybe 90 in the summer at times. To my surprise, 5 of my HEVI-13 Magnum Blend loads has leaked out buffer, 2 leaking a lot and other 3 a little. I plan to make HEVI aware tomorrow and see what kind of customer service they have. :)

Dang! I would have never thought of that happening. Hopefully they make it right. Thanks for sharing. I wonder if it was from the temperature changes from storage?

Checked my double X... Everything looks good. Thanks for the heads up

Common problem... a little candle wax will take care of it. Nitro ammo is the worst.
Remington nitro? Never noticed it. But will be on the lookout. Thanks!

Ouch. That shot is too expensive to be doing that.

I thought leaking buffer was standard on hevi shot turkey loads. I had some jam up the magazine on my daughter's Mossberg pump one time and had to take it apart to unload it. I didn't think I'd ever get all that junk out of there.

If you are shooting Remington Nitros this is the least of your worries. Worst patterning shells I've ever tested and I've never heard of them patterning well for anyone. But, if you like them that's all that matters.

I've had the crimp to separate more than that on MagBlends and actually lose some of the shot.

Good advice on doing a check now.

Interesting you say that, I have never had Nitro ammo leak (used them many years), and even had five Nitro H517 shells stored in this same container. With that said, my good friend has had some Nitro shells do the same thing several years ago, and Nitro Ray blamed it on some bad glue. Ray made it right by sending my bud all new shells.

You are probably correct, but this is the first I have ever had leak on me and I have used Magblends every season since they came out.

I've seen it happy also not on every box I get but several everyone I know that uses them does the same I thought it was normal. I've seen Nitro's do the same to (not Remington nitros)

Environ-Metal, Inc technical rep stated they used clear loctite adhesive to seal the shells. He offered to have UPS pick them up, then ship me some new ones, or I could just reseal them. I will probably go with the latter of the two since I will be loading my own TSS loads for this spring.

I feel like for how much those cost their customer service should have simple been

"I'm sorry you bought our over priced but very nice shells and had issues. Please keep that box and allow us to send you a free one. Thank you for being a customer".

If you had that response I would consider buying. It bugs me when premium companies don't have top notch CS. That just further pushed me towards LB. Customer service rule #1 take care of the customers and the customers will take care of you. Even though they offered to replace it still had stipulations to return the other box first. That's petty when you consider customer retention on premium products. Sending you a free box would have probably made them more money in the long run.

Hevi and nitro ammo company are both notorious for that. There were several people on another forum a few years back that quit shooting them cause of that. I don't shoot either but if I did I would reseal them as soon as I bought them to avoid the headache down the road
