Cheyennes first hunt

Guys who don't take their girl kids out in the woods are really missing out.

I have a girl, boy, girl... all started hunting with me once they got out of diapers.

Spent the same amount of time with each one of them in the woods growing up, but now that they are older (22, 20, 17), the only ones who will hunt with me in the same stand are my girls. My boy does his own thing. I've hunted 13 out of the past 19 days... and only 3 were solo. All the other days have been spent with my daughters in the stand with me.

Oh, and in my experience, girls are much better shots than guys. Like WAY better.
I agree. I had both kids in the woods/blind as little as 3 years old. Even killed the occasional deer in between snacks, naps and bathroom breaks. I never pushed them to stay past when they was ready to go. But having the sportsman condos really helped occupy them. They could still move around. Stretch out in the floor. Stay warm. Whatever it may be. My take is most kids are a much better shot than adults. Reason I say that is, they typically just don't put pressure on themselves like we do. Unless we rush them, get them torn up and make light of what's going on. They usually stay calm. My son who is 12. Has taken loads of deer in the last 7 years. 6 doe, 2 spikes, 3 point, 7 point, 8 points x3 and his personal best 145-150 inch 10 pointer that he will top one day hopefully.

9 year old girl. Same as my boy. She just likes. To spend time watching the different animals. She' I'm

That's awesome buddy!

When my daughter who is the oldest was born I bought her a lifetime license. I would hold her up to my deer heads on the wall and she'd kiss them. Figured that wasn't a good sign and she never hunted. Caught a few fish but no hunting and at 24 guess she never will. My son came along 3 years later so bought his lifetime too and he got his money's worth from it until he caught up to 2-legged dear. Now at 21 he's working 6 days a week and 5 every third week so really doesn't have the time nor cares too. Still holding out hope at some point he'll want to go again.
