I already have a full choke flush mount tube, which constricts to .670
It came with the gun, so its probably as standard of a full choke as they get.
My question is, Is it necessary that I buy a "turkey" or xx-full choke? Or should I be just fine this fall with the full flush mount tube?

for 30 yards and in your full choke will work. Out past 30 I would opt for a real turkey choke. Shoot your gun at several yardages with whatever you decide to hunt with so you know how your gun shoots. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice man! and what i plan to shoot is $11 for 10 rounds, cheap compared to other turkey loads, so it wont hurt the wallet too much to do that.

And I killed my first turkey at 6 yards so don't try shoot em when they're out at 50 anyway... ;)

Oh and 3006 dont tell anyone of my secret turkey spot on Yanahli. Something tells me there will be a few birds taking dirt naps out there come October...

Catman, 50 is the new 40. With the new chokes and loads, and some range time, a 50 yard killing machine is easily attainable. Not all birds are kamikaze jakes that come in on a string. Older birds sometimes hang up at whatever yardage they feel like and refuse to move closer.
I know they do but when it's your first bird ever, a jake coming in on a string is a very welcome shot. I would likely pass it up if it happened again because now I want to focus on the longbeards. And I have an XX full choke so I can get them hung up gobblers.
