Choke recommendation Franchi Affinity 3” 12 gauge

I've got the regular Carlson's turkey choke in mine (not the longbeard version) and it shoots the Winchester longbeard shells 5 and 6 really good.

The Carlson's longbeard shoots well too but I just thought it was too tight at 20-25 yards

I bought a Carlsons .650 extended choke and a Carlsons .650 Longbeard XR ported one. I have pattern tested today and they both shoot Federal 3" #5 turkey thug shells very similarly. That being said - the regular extended choke definitely has a slightly better pattern at 20 and 40 yards. I'm going to shoot some Magblends and some Federal Heavyweight #7 shells through them both to see if they pattern any better.

All shots are at a 13x19 sheet of paper @ 40 yards. I didn't bother with a 10" circle - just counted the shots on the paper to get an apples-to-apples comparison for each choke.

Pulled off to the left slightly on this shot. I need to shoot one time with the #7 Federal heavyweight round with the standard extended .650 choke.

On a side note I'll be toting my 1187 20 gauge compact shooting 3" Federal Heavyweight #7 with Truglo SSX choke. Here is the pattern it has @ 40 yards.
