Because of where they were collected, on private property around Shiloh Tn.
I count 53 or 54 pieces total.

The amount of gear lost and bullets expended there boggles the mind. That is a great treasure!
My dad grew up near there and loved the place. When I was a kid, we made an annual summer trip to Shiloh battlefield and had a picnic there. That got me interested in the history of the civil war and at one time had a subscription to Civil War Times magazine. I have a few nice pieces that I am keeping in my collection, but it is time for me to downsize.

Great book by Shelby Foote too! GLWS
Never read his book, but I have seen him in several shows on the History Channel. Always enjoyed his commentary.
