Clover.

Are you talking about time of the day or season? In my experience deer "hit" it at anytime. I have a small "observation" plot not 30 yards behind the house that is planted in a mixture of clovers and you can see deer eating there just about anytime. In fact I just looked out the window and there were two does munching the heck out of it. :)

In our area they like it much of the time, but in the spring they switch from it to newly budded cat green briar, honeysuckle, and blackberry, and later to poke salad as evidenced in some photos i posted here last summer.......but............when it gets really dry in the summer and the browse and forbs are less tasty the tender clover becomes dessert again and i saw this last july/aug when they started hammering the clover really hard. weather and taste are big factors.
