I just don't know about this one. Kind of a weird "front". No real wind and its from the east but lots of snow on top of the ice.. Usually the white stuff makes them act dumb. We shall see. Thoughts?

Hopefully at least gets what birds are around acting foolish. That accompanied with a lot of skinny water staying frozen should make for decent hunting, but I thought this week would be better than it has overall.

My thoughts exactly. Kind of thinking this weekend will be better when the wind shifts out of the south.

No ducks in my locale to stir up. I get my ducks from Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana though. Talked with a vendor this morning that is 30 mins north of Louisville and they have 8" of snow on the ground. I don't know what is farther north above them though. If it doesn't have significant snow cover they may just sit tight where they are and dry feed and go back to flowing or water they are keeping open.

Front directly from the west or even the southwest doesn't do me much good here.

Currently about 3" of snow on the ground and still coming down decent. A wet, heavy snow. Thermometer says 32*. Water that had some run-off flowing into it actually opened back up yesterday when it warmed to 53* here.

We scratched out three man limit this morning but the snow was a battle. We were continually dunking decoys to try to keep them looking half way descent.
Have hopes that tomorrow morning will be better. Should be easier!

Not my story to tell but know of a group in west tn that killed a double banded mallard with gps tracker today
A few days ago, a double banded/transmitter gadwall was killed in west TN. Banded at White Lake. I figured the photos would have made the rounds on Facebook but I haven't heard of anyone talking about it (I don't do facebook).

A hunting partner of mine got this one in December at the Davy Crockett club in West Tennessee
