Corn or minerals?

BSK, how long have you used that particular hole?
Wondering because I have done something similar but with no where near the result.

That's the oldest salt lick on my property. I started it in '94. That picture was taken in '08 I believe. Now, all the ground around that hole has been eaten away. It's just a big depression in the ground. In '94 that spot started as a big mound of dirt (a big upturned root-wad).

Ok, make sense now. I've been doing the same for the past 7 years or so. The hole they have created is only about 1/3 that size.

this ant no joke when we put in a new tr and the deer dont hit it in a few days we go back and put a little peanut butter around it and they start hitting it

Deer are attracted to peanut butter, for whatever reason.
Sprinkle grape kool aid on the ground right before a rain and they will tear the ground up to.

Get pictures year around using a trace mineral block. About $7 and last about a year.

That works in some places, but not all places. In my area, deer stop using salt all together once the weather cools in fall. Others report year-round use. I have no idea why the local differences.
