First - my bow started creaking this morning. Went hunting yesterday and didn't notice hitting it on anything, but it's always been completely silent when drawing it before. Not loud, but I can hear it on every draw this morning, coming from the top of the bow. Any ideas/suggestions?

Second - Doc at Harvest Archey, who I trust implicitly, is dead set against lighted rocks because of their inconsistent manufacturing. I'd still like to easily find my arrows. Looked online for a reflective ink marker, couldn't find any. Found reflective tape, but I'd rather not go that route as it could throw off point of impact and arrow flight. Anyone use something reflective on their arrows? I don't currently use wraps, I did see some of those.

Every bow I've ever had creaks when drawing. They're quiet when new but over time they make a little noise. If you're concerned then it wouldn't be a bad idea to have it looked at. Better to be safe.

As for lighted nocks, I'm not sure i agree with your shop guy. If you shoot them before putting in your quiver then you know how they work and how they fly. Sometimes you do get a dud but as long as you test them before hunting you won't have any problem.

Id grease the limb bolts with lithium grease but itd need to be broke down in a press... I have a 2014 elite energy 35 and there's no noise til you hit the limb stops... Maybe the limb deflection with having the one limb swapped???

It is an Elite Synergy; I'll probably take it back to the shop and see if they can figure it out.

Reflective tape isn't going to change impact that much .. that being said buy some of the Deepower nocks off Amazon give them a try at hunting distances you won't have a issue with them as long they are to tight on your string

Doc is not wrong about the inconsistencies of lighted nocks. Even with the more expensive ones there will be both weight variances as well as fit issues. With all that said I still use them. Buy a couple of packs, weigh them to get the 4-5 most consistent ones then make sure they fit your arrows tightly.

Can't help you with the noise part but if someone could isolate where the noise is coming from you might be able to dry lube it maybe. Have some stand beside you when you draw and see if they can isolate where it's coming from.

i've never shot lighted nocks so can't comment on my experience with them.
i would definitely have the bow checked if it creaks. only thing i can ever hear when i draw my bow back is the arrow sliding along the rest. saying that, i will proabably have all kinds of racket begin next time i try to draw slowly and quietly on a deer haha!

A simple way to lube the rest is to rub the side of your nose then rub the rest. In the cams I would use powdered graphite. It stays consistent at any temperature.

Reflective tape shouldn't affect point of impact more than a millimeter. You don't need a biga** wide swath of it. A 1/4" - 3/8" wide wrap just ahead of the fletchings works as well as anything. Just be careful whilst applying it not to muck up the adhesive with finger grease, so it'll stay tight. Clean the area of the shaft you're going to apply it to first.

Nice thing about reflective tape is the batteries don't die.
