Crappie with eggs

I have never fished for crappie during the Winter months. I went yesterday a caught 6 . Three of which had eggs in them . Is this common for this time of the year ?

yep, crappie start developing egg sacs in the fall and continue on into spring until they spawn. some states have even seen a delayed spawn in the fall, but with our early drawdown its likely for zero recruitment if it has ever happened here.

I see eggs in crappie all year long,last summer I even caught them with eggs in June and july[emoji12]
