This afternoon around 3 pm I stepped out of my shop to go in the house. Right beside my shop about 15 or 20 ft. from it is a grown up fencerow that separates us from the neighbors next door. Just as I stepped out this doe ran right by me and down the fencerow going toward the road, right behind her was a really nice buck. Looked like a really tall eight, anyway the fencerow stops a few feet from the road and they turned the corner and ran right through the neighbors yard crossing the road onto a large property.
Wherever the doe goes so goes the buck!

I live in Bellevue, a suburb of Nashville. I can't tell you how many times I've watched buck-doe chases right through everybody's yards and up and down the street. One afternoon a few years ago, all traffic had to stop as a nice 8-point chased a doe right down the road in front of the Bellevue Library.

I took these pictures from my back yard a number of years ago. The doe the buck was tending is lying down just to the left of the image frame. The buck stood guard over the doe, and even laid down in my neighbor's carport for some time. During the periods of chasing, the two of them jumped my chain-link fence multiple times like it wasn't even there. Pictures weren't even taken with telephoto lens. Just walked up to within 20 yards of the buck and started snapping pictures.
