I looked at my xbow hanging on my shop wall the other day and cringed again... I think the statute of limitations is up on my goof up that happened last year so ill post it now...lol.. I sold my old trusty horton deer slayer for a newer faster barnett model... and it is ..newer and faster... a couple of days after I got it I was sighting my new scope in.. I had shot a few times, everything was going good.. until... I shot and it flew out of my grip, my left hand was burning and stinging.. I had a few other places that was burning and stinging.. i'm thinking somewhere on my face or neck.. blood was dropping everywhere... as I stood there looking at the xbow I was trying to figure out how in the world the string had come down and ripped one of my fingernails half off... and numbed the rest of my hand... i'm still not sure what happened... all I can figure is somehow after I cocked it with the cocking rope, I must have left one side attached to the string.. when I fired.. it waylayed me...all over...!! word of advise... MAKE SURE THE COCKING ROPE IS NOT ON THE STRING WHEN YOU SHOOT!!!! I know.. I'll go ahead and say it before anyone else does.... you cant fix stupid...LOL

Accidents happen that's for sure. I've done some pretty dumb things in my life as well. We can all use this as a reminder to double check "everything" before we squeeze the trigger.
Glad it wasn't any worse than it was and hopefully all is well now.
