A .452 chunk of lead would work just fine
cast bullet... im interestedA .452 chunk of lead would work just fine
I shot the same bullet in my 7mm-08 for several years. I swapped over to Nosler Accubonds, and the difference is amazing. The Accubonds greatly outperform the interlocks. Not the same gun, but I've been using 139 grn 7mm Hornady Interlocks @ 3,000 fps and they hold together great.
These are the rumors I've heard about the interlocks. But I have no real world proof. So at what yardages were you seeing this with the interlocks? Do the accubonds expand at those close ranges too?I should add that the greatest performance difference is on close range shots where the interlocks tend to separate the cup and core, which reduces penetration and pass through.
I shot the interlocks for 20+ years. Close shots (40 yards and closer) the cup almost always seperated from the core. The Accubonds expand rapidly but weight retention is very high. They are basically the best of both worlds, great expansion and high weight retention. These are the rumors I've heard about the interlocks. But I have no real world proof.
