Cup and core bullet vs bonded bullet for whitetails

I should add that the greatest performance difference is on close range shots where the interlocks tend to separate the cup and core, which reduces penetration and pass through.
These are the rumors I've heard about the interlocks. But I have no real world proof. So at what yardages were you seeing this with the interlocks? Do the accubonds expand at those close ranges too?

I shot the interlocks for 20+ years. Close shots (40 yards and closer) the cup almost always seperated from the core. The Accubonds expand rapidly but weight retention is very high. They are basically the best of both worlds, great expansion and high weight retention.
